Oxfordshire
Oxfordshire is known worldwide for its beauty, character and charm. It has a mix of cities, towns and villages nestled in amongst its areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty and you will find everything from local country pubs to internationally renowned Universities.
The City of Oxford is a historical destination and home to a wide range of attractions. The University is the oldest in the English speaking world. Christchurch College in particular is a favourite site for visitors, being the largest of the Oxford Colleges and having recently been the location for some of the Harry Potter movies.
Punting on the River Thames is always worth a try. Oxfordshire’s countryside is a great backdrop for walking, cycling or horse riding, especially through the beautiful Oxfordshire Cotswolds, North Wessex Downs and the Chilterns, which are all officially recognised as Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
Blenheim Palace, the birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill, has gardens landscaped by Capability Brown and the house is steeped in history.
